here at Carondelet. /n/n/n CT Tech FT Days Position Summary /n/n/n
Performs computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of
disease and injury according to protocols established by
radiologists. /n/n/n Responsibilities /n/n/n Prepares and positions
patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
/n/n/n Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications
within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and
federal regulations. /n/n/n Observes patient during procedure and
reports abnormal activity. /n/n/n Monitors protocols and recommends
updates or refinements as warranted. /n/n/n Follows radiation
safety procedures and guidelines. /n/n/n Collects pertinent patient
history and documents on requisition. /n/n/n Checks for accuracy of
ordered exams by comparing to written physician order. /n/n/n
Verifies correct patient by using two forms of identity
verification, prior to injecting patient or starting exam. /n/n/n
Maintains patient confidentiality per established CHN policies
regarding HIPAA rights and practices. /n/n/n Completes consent
forms as indicated per procedure. /n/n/n Completes pregnancy forms,
oxygen transportation forms, medication reconciliation forms.
/n/n/n Inputs and processes requisitions. /n/n/n Inputs all
pertinent information and provides image/film history to
radiologists for review and comparison. /n/n/n Starts intravenous
access as needed, and performs I.V. injections using proper
technique. /n/n/n Understands how to treat patients with
infiltrated IV sites. /n/n/n Understands management of patients
with elevated Creatinine levels. /n/n/n Maintains proper oxygen
therapy on patients who require oxygen. /n/n/n Maintains skills
required to change oxygen tanks. /n/n/n Must be able to use masks
and nasal canula. /n/n/n Adjusts rate of O2 flow with mask/nasal
canula according to written physician orders. /n/n/n Secures,
transports, and secures e-cylinders. /n/n/n Maintains radiation
safety for women of childbearing age, in accordance with existing
imaging department standards. /n/n/n Documents patient education on
requisition or worksheet as appropriate. /n/n/n THE CT TECH FT DAYS
CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION,
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE. /n/n/n
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION /n/n/n Certification Required:
ARRT- R&N (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) and AZ
Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE). /n/n/n
Certification Required: ARRT- CT; obtain CT certification within 2
years of hire/transfer date. /n/n/n Certification Required: Basic
Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association. /n/n/n EDUCATION
/n/n/n Required: Graduate of an accredited radiology program.
/n/n/n WORK EXPERIENCE /n/n/n Required: One (1) year experience as
a radiologic technologist. /n/n/n Preferred: Previous CT
