operations. Purpose of Role: The Manager of Tax is a critical
regional role, responsible for the oversight of all US tax
compliance and reporting. This position will serve as a key
resource for the regional leadership team and will be the primary
liaison between our US operations, external tax advisors, and the
corporate tax team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong
technical background in US tax, with a proven ability to manage
compliance activities and support the business with tax-related
analysis. This regional role will report to the US Senior Manager
Finance and lead a small team. Roll Accountabilities: Tax
Compliance & Reporting: Oversee the preparation and filing of 1099s
and 1042s; manage federal and state income tax returns in
coordination with external advisors. IFRS Oversight: Perform
detailed return-to-provision reviews to ensure tax accounting
aligns with IAS 12/IFRS standards. Corporate Collaboration: Serve
as the primary liaison for the corporate tax team; provide tax
inputs for FP&A models and impairment computations. Audit &
Internal Controls: Manage tax-related audit requests and serve as
the control owner for all tax-related SOX internal controls and
documentation. Transfer Pricing: Monitor and document intercompany
transactions to ensure compliance with relevant laws and
methodologies. Ad-Hoc Analysis & Planning: Conduct research for
business decisions and lead tax planning for acquisitions, due
diligence, and capital raising. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and
coach a team of tax professionals; accountable for the high-quality
technical output of the department. Strategic Advisory: Advise the
US leadership team on tax implications of business decisions and
monitor changes in international/domestic tax laws. Minimum
Qualifications and Education: Education: Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Compliance Knowledge:
Strong technical knowledge of US federal, Arizona, and Nevada
state/local tax laws. Standards & Controls: Proficient in tax
accounting under IAS 12 and operating within US SOX compliance
environments. Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and
proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP) and tax-specific
software. Soft Skills: Proven ability to manage external advisory
firms, collaborate across internal teams, and demonstrate excellent
analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Certification: Professional accounting designation (CPA or CA).
Experience: 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 2
years specifically in the mining industry . Transaction Experience:
Background in handling corporate reorganizations or complex
financial transactions. Language Skills: Spanish-speaking ability
to facilitate communication with international partners and a
