This position plans, organizes, and promotes new technological safety business development. The ideal candidate is responsible for proposing solutions to social issues, maximizing profits, and achieving corporate growth objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Review databases, research papers, and publications to attain awareness of social issues requiring safety product solutions for the U.S. Market. Contact widely with potential customers, academia, government bodies and other organizations to attain potential needs. Prepare analysis reports and share information with the global Daicel team. Conceive new business and products concepts based on marketing input and potential customer feedback. Survey competitors, and patents in related fields. Estimate the business potential of new concepts and present it to internal/external customers. Research and contact business and development partners for commercialization. Attending conferences and other meetings to network and promote Daicel activities. Maintain professional, trained, and motivated attitude and provide strong leadership skills. Support strategic plans to accommodate corporate goals. Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE B.S. Degree in Marketing, Engineering, or related discipline with advanced degree desirable. Minimum 5 years business development experience. Strong aptitude for technology and Daicel’s lifesaving mission. Experience working with Japanese companies and employees a plus. Experience in safety related industry desired. A self-starter with the ability to meet committed schedules. Personal computer skills required. Excellent communication and presentation skills. REASONING ABILITY Ability to read, comprehend, interpret and statistically analyze complex data and understand technical concepts and publications. Must be able to generate statical analysis, complex presentations, market proposals, and business plans.
