seeking an Electronic Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) Engineer -
Level 3/4 to join our team in Gilbert, AZ. In this role, you will
join a team of 2-4 EGSE Engineers interfacing with the spacecraft
subsystem engineers, to obtain design requirements. Early on, there
will be design work that requires documentation development in not
only electrical design, but also some mechanical design, then
support to an EDL (Engineering Development Lab) when the hardware
is being built and assembled by the technicians. The next phase
will be spent on integration and troubleshooting any problems on
the product you helped to design and build to test the UUT. You
will be responsible for designing test equipment (test racks,
fixtures, selecting or designing digital/analog/serial and various
signal interface cards, cables, etc.) to test and validate the
operation of satellite components. You will work closely with
hardware and software engineers, to understand component
requirements and their designs, to create test set solutions that
effectively and efficiently test them in both ambient and space
conditions, such as thermal vacuum. Your Role and Impact: Working
with the Cognizant Engineer and Test Engineer of the flight
Hardware to obtain the Hardware Unit Under Test (UUT) Specification
Requirements. Developing requirements for testing of space vehicle
components or UUT. Working closely with the spacecraft UUT Design
Engineer to ensure the component test equipment (CTE)/ automated
test equipment (ATE) system will validate the circuit cards and/or
electronics box under all test environments. Working with the Test
Engineer to develop the test plan for the UUT hardware
environmental requirements. Generating review material and
supporting design reviews for the test equipment in development.
Hardware design of component test equipment (CTE) and automated
test equipment (ATE) to test space vehicle components. Ensuring
that the technical requirements, cost, and schedule for the CTE/ATE
system development is achieved. End-to-end design, debug, test, and
certification of CTE/ATE systems. Documentation, development, and
release of the CTE/ATE systems. Generating Certification Test
Procedures. Supporting the test and debug for flight and non-flight
spacecraft electronic circuit card assemblies (CCA) and boxes. This
requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications
listed below. Basic Qualifications: Electronic Ground Support
Equipment (EGSE) Engineer - Level 3: 5 years of experience with
Bachelors in STEM; 3 years with Masters; 1 year with PhD Electronic
Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) Engineer - Level 4: 8 years of
experience with Bachelors in STEM; 6 years with Masters; 4 years
with PhD Ability and willingness to obtain a DoD Clearance
Experience documenting and developing cable drawings/wiring
diagrams Experience designing test hardware Fundamental
understanding of electrical circuit schematics Preferred
Qualifications: Degree in Engineering Experience designing hardware
components for use in ATE/CTE Experience using and programming
Avionics/Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Experience using
National LabVIEW (RT & FPGA) as the primary development tool for
EGSE software design Experience using Python / Perl / STOL /
TestStand Understanding of Power Converter Design Previously
developed high level drawings with VISIO Experienced in test
requirements development Experienced in development and supporting
QTP/ATP/EMI testing Experienced Testing and Troubleshooting of
Flight Card and Box Proficiency in Circuit Analysis and circuit
design Proficient in Schematic Analysis and Schematic Capture
Proficient in Cable Design Proficient in EGSE Rack Design
Experienced with EGSE Thermal analysis Fundamental understanding of
general and specialized test equipment to include Signal
Generators, Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power equipment, and
Digital Multimeter Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 -
$147,600.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however,
Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining
base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the
position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and
current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may
be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary
bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to
reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share
in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director
positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition,
