Job Description Job Description SUMMARY Performs assessment,
diagnostic evaluation, crisis intervention, case management, and
therapeutic services for individuals, families, and groups;
provides community consultation, education, staff orientation, and
training; assists in team supervision and participates in the
planning, development, and implementation of services as part of
the Adult Recovery Team. DUTIES Performs assessment and initial
diagnostic evaluation of clients. Develops treatment plans for
clients through participation in data gathering and observations.
Provides clinical outpatient treatment, including crisis
intervention, to individuals, families, and groups. Provides
intervention for complex cases. Provides case management services
for clients, including development of treatment and discharge
plans, follow-up, and closure. Maintains client charts and records
according to established guidelines and procedures. Provides
community consultation and education. Participates in team staff
meetings and facilitates in-service training sessions. Attends and
participates in staff meetings and facilitates in-service training
sessions. Participates in the planning, development, and
implementation of new services to underserved populations. Makes
appropriate internal and external referrals for ongoing treatment
of cases. Acts as liaison with the community and other agency
components, which provide related services. Provides orientation
and training to other staff members, student interns, and
volunteers. May act as unit supervisor in his/her absence or
provide on-site supervision of clinical and clerical staff. May
transport clients in agency vehicles. May assist in intake
screening of telephone and in-person requests for service. May
conduct home visits as required. May provide court-ordered
outpatient treatment for appropriate clients. May participate in
pre-petition screening and evaluation for court ordered psychiatric
hospitalization. Coordinate all care and services required to
enhance and facilitate the optimal physical and behavioral health
wellness of persons served within a trauma-informed care framework.
This includes: 1) facilitating communication between medical and
behavioral health practitioners/systems ; 2) assisting with
scheduling of and compliance with preventative and specialty
physical health interventions; 3) integrating treatment
interventions to address both the physical and behavioral health
needs of the person/family concurrently; 4) assist persons/families
served with education and resources outlining the interplay of
physical and behavioral health issues on overall wellness and
quality of life. An individual may qualify for the position if the
individual is able to “perform safely” the essential functions of

related duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Must be licensed or able
to obtain license with any of the following types; Licensed
Addiction Counselor Technician (LACT), Licensed Associate Addiction
Counselor (LAAC) for existing LACT, Licensed Associate Addiction
Counselor (LAAC), Licensed Independent Addiction Counselor (LIAC)
for existing LAAC, or Licensed Independent Addiction Counselor
(LIAC) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Considerable knowledge of
various modes of psychotherapy, especially crisis intervention and
short-term models using individual, group, and familial approaches.
Considerable skill in assessment procedures, diagnostic evaluation,
therapeutic treatment, and case management practices including
follow-up and closure. Considerable knowledge of the principles and
practices of community mental health, alcohol, and/or substance
abuse services. Knowledge of psychopathology and psychotherapeutic
techniques. Knowledge of program planning, development, and
implementation of services for special populations. Ability to
provide in-service training as necessary. Some knowledge of
administrative, management and supervisory practices. Skill in
planning, organizing, and providing professional guidance and
leadership. Ability to assess and evaluate treatment and service
programs. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain an
effective and caring relationship with clients and their families.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a multi-disciplinary
team and with the public. Knowledge of the cultural characteristics
of various minority groups. Ability to communicate effectively both
orally and in writing. Other Potential Requirements Bilingual
(Spanish/English) Availability to work evening hours and some
weekends. Ability to participate in play/recreational activities.
