Groundwater Modeler / Hydrogeologist




M&A is currently seeking a full-time hydrogeologist with groundwater modeling experience to support our mining clients in the western United States.



Work duties may include:


Developing numerical groundwater flow and transport models
Developing hydrogeologic conceptual models and water budgets
Managing groundwater model tasks and activities
Compiling, processing, and analyzing hydrogeologic data using spreadsheets, databases, GIS, graphing software, and computer programming
Preparing data summaries, presentations, and technical reports/memos
Participating in client meetings/teleconferences to present program results and recommendations


Qualifications


Graduate degree in hydrology, geology, or a related field of study; course work in hydrogeologic data analysis, groundwater modeling, and computer programming preferred
More than 3 years of professional experience outside of academia developing and applying groundwater models
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GIS software, and computer programming (e.g., Python, Scilab, FORTRAN, Octave)
Experience with MODFLOW (including NWT, USG, OWHM, GSFLOW, etc.) and Groundwater Vistas; FEFLOW a plus
Professional training in quantitative hydrogeology and groundwater modeling
Understanding of regional hydrogeologic settings in the arid and semi-arid regions of the west
Positive and enthusiastic attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work in teams and at times with minimal supervision
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills and commitment to deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills
U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the United States (required)
